Queen Elizabeth Country Park (QECP)

Mountain Biking at Queen Elizabeth Country Park

Located within the Western part of the South Downs National Park, lies Queen Elizabeth Country Park, (Qe or QECP)

One of the most accessible trail centres in the South East, has seen significant investment into the existing Mountain Biking and Cycling facilities at the park.

A pump track for kids under 1.4m tall sits next to the visitor centre, close enough for mums and dads to keep an eye on them.

Further into the park, three new skills areas and a beginners mountain bike trail have been built.

The first area is perfect for small groups and working on those core skills and allow the Mountain Bike Coaches to see your progression.

The second area focuses on developing your cornering techniques and introduces small drops and tabletops. It is the prefect environment to focus on techniques such as pumping and body position.

The third area is the Mountain Bike Coaching Area, featuring drops, boardwalks, and progressively bigger berms.

As approved MTB Experience Providers at QECP, Sixtyseven70 are able to book the upper skills area for private use.

The old Blue Trail descent has been given a lot of TLC by the QECP Trail Collective, with most of the downhill section being completely resurfaced, it definitely brings a smile to your face.

The Red trail has also been given a bit of a touch up, with a new drop put in close to to the top of the hill, with more improvements  planned.

The South Downs Way runs through the heart of Queen Elizabeth Country Park, providing the perfect opportunity  to incorporate a bit of Cross Country Riding and a bit of Trail Riding.

For bike rental, head across to Paul and the team at Southern Ebike Rentals and let the bike take the sting out of the climbs, whilst you enjoy the downhills.
